ALS TDI: Building a Better Mouse: How Animal Models Help Fight ALS

Mouse models of disease (although imperfect mimics of the human condition) are essential translational tools for developing and testing drugs that may one day reach patients. The ALS non-profit biotech, ALS-TDI, discusses their rationale for using the existing SOD1-based model and the up-and-coming TDP-43-based model for developing ALS therapeutics that may be applicable to both the sporadic and familial forms of ALS.
