Stem Cell Injections in Lou Gehrig’s Disease can be Given Safely, New Research Shows

Data from the first twelve patients in Neuralstem’s phase I trial, followed for up to 18 months after receiving treatment, have been published in a peer reviewed journal. The encouraging results indicate that the transplanted cells were not rejected and the invasive surgical delivery of stem cells directly into the spinal cord seems to be safe for ALS patients.
