The ALS Therapy Alliance Awards Major Grant to Prize4Life and Northeast ALS Consortium to Launch ALS Database

Clinical trial data from ALS studies conducted over the past 15 years will be pooled into the Pooled Resource Open-Access ALS Clinical Trials (PRO-ACT) database, through the collaborative efforts of the ALS non-profit, Prize4Life, and the leading US-based ALS clinical trials organization, NEALS. The database will be made freely available to researchers worldwide for data-mining and is expected to advance the identification of ALS biomarkers and enhance our understanding of ALS disease progression. A partially populated database with records from Sanofi-Aventis, Novartis, Teva, Regeneron, and others is expected to be launched by years’s end.
